U.S. congressman The Honorable William Jefferson (1947 - ) established the law firm of Jefferson, Bryan and Gray, which went on to become the largest predominantly African American law firm in the South. In the course of his career in politics, Jefferson served in the Louisiana State Senate; the U.S. House of Representatives; and served on the Committee on Ways and Means and as co-chairman of the Africa Trade and Investment Congressional Caucus. Jefferson was interviewed by The HistoryMakers on 6/10/2003 and 6/11/2003, in Washington, D.C.. This collection is comprised of the video footage of the interview.

William Jennings Jefferson (born March 14, 1947) is an American former politician from Louisiana whose career ended after his corruption scandal and conviction. He served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for nine terms from 1991 to 2009 as a member of the Democratic Party.
